Plein Air Paintings

The Painter, one of Buzz Balzer’s outdoor paintings will be on exhibit at the Accola Gallery, Site #1. It was painted last week during the GoPaint! Plein Air Event in Durand. Painters took Motorcars into the Tiffany Wildlife Area to paint and this is the former site of the Erickson Farm, in the delta of the Chippewa River. Look at all the color in those greens!

In the year 2116

I painted this while in Grenada, West Indies over the winter. It’s an acrylic painting 12 x 12 inches, combining acrylic paint with fabric and paper collage. It’s a wild deviation from what I normally paint but I was letting myself really go and let the paintings go their own way, so to speak.

You can see this and others I painted in Grenada and Trinidad over the last two years, during the tour at the Accola Gallery, site #1 in Durand, WI
